Bloor West Village is a popular
neighbourhood for families with excellent schools and is very close
to High Park - Toronto's biggest and best known park. High Park is a
399 acre parkland with picnic areas, flower gardens, a restaurant, an
outdoor amphitheatre, sports facilities and a large pond, and funs tuff
for the kids including animal paddocks, a trackless train, and an adventure
playground.
The Bloor West Village retail
district attracts shoppers from all over the city, with more than 400
shops, restaurants and services, including specialty clothing stores,
book stores, bakeries, delicatessens, specialty food shops, cafes and
restaurants. Convenience stores and other shops catering to household
needs, can also be found on Jane and Annette Streets.
Bloor West Village homes
are all fairly similar in size and style, many featuring deep front
porches, shaded by the mature trees lining the streets. Many of the
homes have decorative oak accents, hardwood floors, and fireplaces.
The Jane and Runnymede subway
stations, are on the Bloor-Danforth subway line, and there are convenient
bus routes in this area. The Gardiner Expressway and Lake Shore Boulevard
are within ten minutes drive and provide easy access into and out of
the city.
